Our Roots Bayridge Animal Hospital officially opened by Dr. Jay Black and his wife Cathy Black, who is a veterinary technologist. They found an area of Kingston that was suited to their long-term goals as residents but was also in need of a caring dedicated veterinarian to service the large concentration of animal families. Jay opens the doors… Jay had a large following, having worked in Kingston and its surrounding cities in Eastern Ontario since graduating, and his clients were eager to come to Bayridge once the doors were opened. Since then, Bayridge Animal Hospital has enjoyed serving the growing animal population in this west end residential community of Kingston. Jay asked Dr. John Wilson to join the team in 2003 seeing that they shared the vision of providing the highest quality pet health care to their client’s animal families. John also had a loyal list of patients that he had ministered to since 1995, when he began practicing in the Kingston area. Dr. Jeff Kaufmann really liked how Bayridge Animal Hospital treated the clients and patients and the high quality of medicine and surgery that was fostered there so he joined the veterinary team in 2010. Together they have created a fun, friendly, caring environment where everyone is important and welcome. Where we are today Bayridge Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary care clinic serving dogs and cats with a wide range of animal health care services, from routine healthy pet plans to complex surgery, and just about everything in between. We have a full dental suite that provides comprehensive oral healthcare services, an on-site lab in which we are able to perform an extensive range of diagnostic testing, and digital ultrasound and radiograph machines that allow us to send images electronically to specialists anywhere in the world for consultation. We also offer abdominal and cardiac ultrasound services and we are the first in Kingston to offer 6 types Healthy Pet Plans providing comprehensive preventative health care for a convenient monthly fee. What sets us apart Our real specialty, however, is in the everyday relaxed, fun, and easygoing rapport that we develop with our clients and the animals that they love. The people who we serve are our neighbours, our friends and our family. They’re the folks who live and work in this community. They are an integral part of who we are, and what we all have in common is our love for animals.
